3. Footwear of the Gospel of Peace: The footwear of the gospel of peace symbolizes our readiness to spread the good news of the gospel and to share the peace that comes from knowing Jesus. Just as soldiers needed sturdy footwear to be able to move quickly and effectively, so too do we need to be equipped with the gospel of peace in order to be able to share the love of Christ with others.

In ancient times, the shield was used to protect soldiers from arrows and other weapons, and in a spiritual sense, it protects us from the fiery darts of the evil one. 5. Helmet of Salvation: The helmet of salvation is a symbol of our protection from the lies and false teachings of the devil. In ancient times, the helmet protected the head and the brain, and in a spiritual sense, it protects our minds from being led astray by false beliefs. 6. Sword of the Spirit: The sword of the Spirit is the only offensive weapon in the armor of God and symbolizes the power of the word of God. In ancient times, the sword was used to defend oneself and to attack the enemy, and in a spiritual sense, the sword of the Spirit is the only weapon that we need to defeat the devil.
